Carriacou. Lion Fish. Boneless. Ragga.

We arrived in Carricou on the 16th of January and it was delightful. We dropped anchor in Hilsborough while we sorted out our customs duties, and enjoyed and evening partying with the locals at a wonderful ‘backyard’ carnival warm up party with ‘Boneless’, where Barry and I ended up on stage ‘busting a move’. Quite the experience. The next day we moved along to the next bay, dropped anchor and enjoyed a nice Lion fish meal at the Lazy Turtle Restaurant. Delicious. The next day was spent trekking around the Island and we were pleasantly surprised to discover an amazingly well stocked Supermarket. We attended a great concert at the Lambi Queen with wonderful local musicians and drummers. We also met some great people here, including ‘Ragga’ a born entertainer with a passion for the Sailing life. It wouldn’t be the last time our paths crossed.

Union Island. Kite Surfers and Happy Island.

We arrived on Union Island on the 11th of January and started our time there with a brisk jog to the fort at the high point of the Island and onward to Sparrows bar for a drink and a well deserved swim. Barry and Steven explored Ashton marine park where they caught fish No.2!, a Barracuda and Barry borrowed some bridge wood for an engineering project. We met lovely old Dennis, who joined us for a beer or two and a sleepover on the boat. Happy Island was a great bar and wonderful for sundowners and watching the Kite Surfers do their thing.
